About

I started out as an administrator and, at the same time, taught information technology. That combination has stayed with me: I want a solution to work, and I want people to understand why it works.

Today, together with a team of engineers where each of us owns a different area, I deploy Microsoft 365, help organisations adopt it and improve environments that are already running. My part is information protection: preventing data leaks, classifying and labelling documents, and making Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI tools safe to use.

Who I work with

Finance, the public sector, manufacturing, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and state-owned companies. Organisations where data is valuable and regulatory requirements are very concrete.

How I work

• Understand the data first, then protect it. I start by finding out where the important information is and who uses it. Without that, every policy is guesswork.
• Observe first, block later. New rules start by only watching and reporting. We switch on blocking once we know whom it will affect and how, so users do not learn about security from an error message.
• Security that users understand. A label nobody understands protects nothing. Simple names, short instructions and training are part of the deployment, not an extra.
• The knowledge stays with the client. I document the solution and hand the knowledge over to administrators, so the organisation can keep developing it without me.

Outside work

After hours I usually reach for my guitar. Music teaches the same thing as a good deployment: solid foundations first, freedom later.
